Appeal For Donations

I am starting a nonprofit to raise money which will cover the cost of upgrades to the NEV-100's technology as well as insurance and regulation fees. The nonprofit is called The Sacred Breath Foundation.
The Sacred Breath Foundation seeks to raise awareness and funding for patients’ continued access to and use of non-invasive negative-pressure forms of respiratory care, which have become less common yet no less effective in the treatment of pulmonary disorders over the past two decades. Through this advocacy, the foundation seeks donations to benefit the maintenance and upgrading of existing negative-pressure ventilatory medical equipment and the development of modern, effective negative-pressure ventilators for use by new and existing patients desiring an option of care outside of positive-pressure (both non-invasive and invasive) or biphasic cuirass ventilation.

The Sacred Breath Foundation seeks to give an alternative form of respiration to people who suffer from chronic respiratory failure, primarily diseases affecting the spinal cord. Through the Foundation it is our goal to ensure the continued manufacturing and selling of the NEV-100.

Meditation

Second reading
From a conference by Saint Thomas Aquinas, priest
The cross exemplifies every virtue
Why did the Son of God have to suffer for us? There was a great need, and it can be considered in a twofold way: in the first place, as a remedy for sin, and secondly, as an example of how to act.
It is a remedy, for, in the face of all the evils which we incur on account of our sins, we have found relief through the passion of Christ. Yet, it is no less an example, for the passion of Christ completely suffices to fashion our lives. Whoever wishes to live perfectly should do nothing but disdain what Christ disdained on the cross and desire what he desired, for the cross exemplifies every virtue.
If you seek the example of love: Greater love than this no man has, than to lay down his life for his friends.Such a man was Christ on the cross. And if he gave his life for us, then it should not be difficult to bear whatever hardships arise for his sake.
If you seek patience, you will find no better example than the cross. Great patience occurs in two ways: either when one patiently suffers much, or when one suffers things which one is able to avoid and yet does not avoid. Christ endured much on the cross, and did so patiently, because when he suffered he did not threaten; he was led like a sheep to the slaughter and he did not open his mouth. Therefore Christ’s patience on the cross was great. In patience let us run for the prize set before us, looking upon Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith who, for the joy set before him, bore his cross and despised the shame.
If you seek an example of humility, look upon the crucified one, for God wished to be judged by Pontius Pilate and to die.
If you seek an example of obedience, follow him who became obedient to the Father even unto death. For just as by the disobedience of one man, namely, Adam, many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one man, many were made righteous.
If you seek an example of despising earthly things, follow him who is the King of kings and the Lord of lords, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Upon the cross he was stripped, mocked, spat upon, struck, crowned with thorns, and given only vinegar and gall to drink.
Do not be attached, therefore, to clothing and riches, because they divided my garments among themselves. Nor to honors, for he experienced harsh words and scourgings. Nor to greatness of rank, for weaving a crown of thorns they placed it on my head. Nor to anything delightful, for in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

Summer: A Time of Reflection

I love summer! Summer is a time for change, a time of self reflection, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Summer is a season for escaping the humdrum ordinariness of home life and for putting life in perspective. It challenges myself to look at life in a new way. My summertime consists in striving for character growth - to never get discouraged and despair - to continuously be aware of God's love for me and to always trust in His abundant love. Summer is a time to see new faces and to go to different places. It is a time to spend with family and to get to know my sisters and brothers-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces a little bit better than I did the year before. Each year when I come north I draw closer to a different one of my nieces, and I love it. I love watching them blossom into the women God has called them to be.

This summer I am particularly reflecting on my future and what God wants from me. I am slowly getting some answers, and I am impatient for more. I need change and I want change. However, the change must come peacefully, and with an abudance of love. I need a little more independence than I presently have and I want to work in accordance with God's will to gain this independence.

All in God's time.

Health Remedies For Living

Within the last year I entered into a woman's change of life and I have experienced a lot of discomfort in my abdominal region. People with severe scolioses are hyper sensitive in this region of the body because it feels like the spine is always in the stomach. I discovered that a change in diet was EXTREMELY helpful with getting rid of cramping as well as severe headaches. How did I change my diet? Well, I drink a green/fruit smoothie in the morning which has all sorts delightfully delectable nutrious vegetables and fruits in it. These delectables are mixed with coconut milk or almond milk, coconut oil, honey, and coconnut water. Coconut is a miracle food and is great for your skin and healing other parts of the body.

In the future I will give some delicious smoothie recipes.

Another wonderful healing remedy is magnesium. Magnesium is an essential mineral for the body because it absorbs vitamin D. We all need both vitamin D AND magnesium to maintain a healthy body. Magnesium helps reduce stress and helps you get a good night sleep. You can take magnesium in a vitamin but I recommend two other magnesium products: 1) 100% Magnesium Solution Spray; and 2) Calm with both magnesium and calcium in it. Rasberry flavor Calm is the best. I recommend both. The spray is great for taking foot baths before bedtime and spraying it on your body. The Calm is delightful in a cup of tea before bedtime.
