Another Person's Perspective of the Porta Lung

I thought it would be good to get a different perspective of the Porta lung from someone who is healthy and not dependent on a respirator. After spending a few summers with her Aunt Therese my 11 year old niece Lizzy Blume (who is very friendly and outgoing) wanted to get in my Porta Lung because she was too curious to find out what this contraption feels like. Aunt Therese, after all, raves about it so much that she wanted to see what there is to rave about. We decided it would make a great science for her and her oldest sister, Therese. At first, Lizzy was somewhat apprehensive of being in it because the pressure was so strong and she wasn't used to it breathing FOR her. You can see from the video the timing of when to talk. She learned that you have to talk when the machine exhales and talk between breaths.

Here my sister Patty is fastening the collar around Lizzy's neck to seal it up before turning it on.

Notice the smile and the thumbs up.
