St. Therese's Desk Viewing

The Diocese of Venice Mission Office was asked to host the viewing of a relic of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, her writing desk. The desk was on display - one day only - at two prayer services on Oct. 24 at Resurrection Parish, Fort Myers. I, unfortunately, could not go to see it so my sister took pictures for me.
The tour began in late August in the Diocese of Las Vegas and will end in October "World Mission Month" in Miami. This is the first time the desk has been allowed outside the Carmelite monastery in France.

St. Thérèse used the desk almost daily between 1894 until her death from tuberculosis in September 1897, composing her spiritual master work, Story of a Soul, as well as seven of her plays, 47 of her poems, 95 of her letters - including those of the two missionaries with whom she corresponded - and 16 of her prayers.
